Crispy Fried Tofu

Ingredients:
Tofu - golden mustard bbq flavor
Corn starch
Flour
Bread crumbs
Smoked paprika
Jambo rub
Garlic salt
Ingredients
- 14 oz firm tofu, pressed and drained
- 1/4 cup corn starch
- 1/4 cup all-purpose flour
- 1/2 cup bread crumbs
- 1 tsp smoked paprika
- 1 tsp jambo rub seasoning
- 1/2 tsp garlic salt
- 1/4 cup plant-based milk
- 2 tbsp olive oil
Instructions
1. Cut the pressed firm tofu into 1-inch cubes to prepare for breading.
2. In a shallow bowl, combine the corn starch, all-purpose flour, smoked paprika, jambo rub, and garlic salt to create the dry coating mixture.
3. Pour the plant-based milk into a separate bowl to use as a wet dip for the tofu.
4. Dip each tofu cube first into the plant-based milk, then dredge it thoroughly in the dry coating mixture, and finally coat it with bread crumbs for extra crispiness.
5. Heat the olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat to prepare for frying.
6. Fry the coated tofu cubes in the hot oil, turning occasionally, until they are golden brown and crispy on all sides, about 6 to 8 minutes.
7. Remove the fried tofu from the skillet and place it on a paper towel-lined plate to drain any excess oil.
8. Serve the crispy fried tofu warm as a snack or as part of your favorite meal.
